Detailed Installation Steps

Step 1: Run Prerequisite Check Script Verify your system meets all requirements before installation

How to Run

  1. Download the prerequisite check script using the button below
  2. Open PowerShell with administrator privileges
  3. Navigate to the download location
  4. Run the script and wait for the compatibility check to complete
Important

You must check the compatibility through the prerequisite script before proceeding to install the tool.

Step 2: Install the Tool Download and set up the ChromeOS Readiness Tool on your system

Installation steps

  1. Download the installer setup package
  2. Run the installer with administrator privileges
  3. Follow the on-screen installation wizard
  4. Select appropriate installation method:
    • <span class="getting-started__label-bold">Active Directory flow:</span> For companies using Active Directory to manage devices
    • <span class="getting-started__label-bold">Other deployment options:</span> For companies using Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) systems
  5. Select data storage location:
    • <span class="getting-started__label-bold">Network shared folder</span>
    • <span class="getting-started__label-bold">GCP storage option</span>
  6. Wait for the installation to complete
Step 3: Deploy to Client Machines Run the tool on target devices to assess ChromeOS readiness

Running a deployment

  1. After selecting the appropriate installation method during setup
  2. Deploy the tool to your client machines
  3. Refer to the user guides below for detailed deployment instructions based on your chosen method
Step 4: Generate Compatibility Report Create comprehensive reports with actionable insights

Generating the report

  1. Wait until the data collection period ends
  2. Once the data collection period has ended, navigate to the "Data Overview section" section
  3. Generate the report
  4. Download reports in your preferred format:
    • Summary PDF file: High-level overview and insights
    • Raw data files (Excel): Detailed data for analysis
